- anxiety, school refusal, depression, selective mute, grief, bereavement, low self-esteem, high level of stress, socialization difficulties such as extreme shyness, withdrawal and isolation, and peer bullying
- trauma stress related disorder or experience
- family issues, separations, divorce, and death or loss of family member
- Other mental health issues
Therapeutic play can also be a supportive intervention for neurodevelopmental differences. This could include those with:
- autism
- ADHD
- learning disabilities
Play therapy does not “cure” these conditions but instead provides emotional support and teaches skills that help children learn and socialize.
